e.e. cummings-the fallen snow
Who knows if the moon's -- e.e.cummings
who knows if the moon's
a balloon,coming out of a keen city
in the sky--filled with pretty people?
(and if you and i should
get into it,
if they
should take me and take you into their balloon,
why then
we'd go up higher with all the pretty people
than houses and steeples and clouds:
go sailing
away and away sailing into a keen
city which nobody's ever visited,where
always
it's
Spring) and everyone's
in love and flowers pick themselves
The fallen snow
But soon will come the snow
if so many people were to meet
(into darkness shall they not venture)
from now this point of no return
the doubt will settle
fallen snow of which we have no control
for will we justify our trip?
I can not tell for now
but soon it will come
(for if it shall not
we will all but perish
in the doom of our soul)
we can not but wait
and shall not submit
our heart into the snow
the fallen snow of yore.

"Doom Soul"
should be a band name.
Don't listen to Minde.
Great choice for cummings poem. Yours is beautifully constructed. I like the abuptness with which it begins. Nice work emulating cummings' use of parentheses.
